One of the most practical techniques in NLP performance coaching is called "well-formed outcomes". By asking specific questions like "What do you want?", an NLP performance coach will access the goal-seeking part of your nervous system ( Neuro); By using clean and reflective language ( Linguistic) such as "what will you see, hear and feel?" we activate your senses; By creating new structures ( Programming) we ensure that you achieve more positive change in your organisation while preserving your work/life balance . So what does this mean in practice? Parkinson's Law suggests that meetings expand to fill the time available :0) Each time you're preparing for a meeting ask yourself “what do I want to achieve in this meeting?” Surprisingly many people often stare into space when asked this question for the first time. When you have an answer ask yourself “What will I see, hear and feel during and after the meeting that will let me know that I have achieved what I set out to achieve” You may surprise yourself how much more you achieve simply by asking these questions and acting on the answers and how much shorter your meetings become. Leaving you time free to do other things. And what do you want to do in your “new-found” free time?
