When you are preparing to learn how to do something new, an NLP performance coach will work with you to access that part of your nervous system that organises your learning into meaningful and repeatable patterns, by installing an effective learning strategy . Learning Strategy in NLP is how you use your senses to learn what you need to learn to achieve your desired outcome or goal.
So what does this mean in practice?
Imagine that you are starting to learn something new, for example learning how to learn easily and well. You may already know someone who is really skilled at learning. You may start to watch what she does, how she moves, how she looks, how she uses her voice tone and tempo. You can start to imitate what she does at first and as you become more familiar with the way that she organises herself to learn you can develop your own style and way of learning, in effect the skill of learning easily and well becomes part of you.
To accelerate this process, close your eyes and find 3 beliefs: Belief 1 is a limiting belief; Belief 2 is silly and Belief 3 is a strong belief that you can learn – full throttle. Become aware of as many subtle distinctions in your 3 beliefs as you can, particularly where they are located. Quickly snap Belief 1 (limiting belief) into the location of Belief 2 (silly belief) as you snap Belief 3, (strong belief) into the position where Belief 1 (limiting belief) had been and enjoy learning easily and well.
