By asking specific questions an NLP performance coach will access the motivational part of your nervous system ( Neuro); to test for congruency. Congruency is how you know what you want, what you really, really want and means that you will act decisively to get it. So what does this mean in practice? Pick a skill that you wish to develop to create more effective use of your time e.g. assertiveness. Before learning and practising this skill, ask yourself: “Do I want to act more assertively?” “Do I deserve to act more assertively?” “Is it important to me to act more assertively?” “Is it possible for me to act more assertively?” “Do I know how to act more assertively?” “Have I already achieved a state of assertiveness?” “Is it safe for me to act assertively?” Many people often find that they hear, see or feel a “no” response when asking some of these questions for the first time. Your awareness of this response gives a very clear indication where change is needed, and we will be showing you how to get to a “yes” response for complete motivation and congruence so that new skills are learned easily over the coming months.
