Accessing and Utilising Resources PDF Print E-mail

Before you begin a new project, an NLP performance coach will work with you to elicit your internal and external resources to accomplish your outcome . So what does this mean in practice? Imagine you are about to make a change that will be accomplished over a period of time. For example you wish to improve your people skills and add mentoring and coaching to your toolkit to complement your task orientation and functional competence. To begin go through the process of defining a well-formed outcome covered in earlier newsletters and once you know what you want, ask yourself “what resources do I need to achieve my desired outcome and can I access them?” Make a list; for example: Skills, States, Assets and Anchors. Experience in making a similar change. Time. Budget. Support. Planning and Organisation. Then ask yourself “Are these resources within my control and can I utilise them?”. This enables you to know what it will take and who you need to influence to make the change happen. All that remains is to check that the outcome is worth getting and then you are ready to go for it ! Smile
